Ground source heat pumps
Using energy stored in the earth, a ground source heat pump can provide heating and/or cooling and water heating which is up to 400% more efficient than a conventional heating system. Using either boreholes or a ground surface collectors, heat energy is extracted from the ground and through heat transfer and compression this heat energy is increased and used to provide hot water for both heating buildings and to supplying domestic hot water
Air source heat pumps
Working on a similar principle to ground source heat pumps, an air source heat pump extracts energy from the air and converts this via heat transfer and compression to the water used in central heating systems and domestic supplies.
Solar hot water systems
Extracting the energy from sunlight, solar thermal systems provide heat energy for use in hot water systems working with a primary heating system and can provide approximately a third of all hot water needs.
